🌿 From Maunga to Moana: Tauira Protecting Taranaki’s Manu Moana

Ngā manu pīkoko (from ngā kura ō Omata and Fitzroy) are learning about their local manu takutai moana (sea and shore birds). In a collaboration between Te Ara Taiao and Te Whānau Toroa (Wild for Taranaki), tauira have a unique opportunity to deepen their connection to some of Taranaki’s manu taonga, coastal ecosystems, and gain an understanding of the crucial roles that these manu contribute to our taiao. 🌿 Read the full story below.

🛠️ Repair Café in Ngāmotu - New Plymouth this Sunday 29 June

We'll have repairers for clothing, bicycles, appliances, toys and more! As well as free repairs, you’ll find expert help and friendly advice on hand from our amazing local volunteers who can give you tips on how to repair everyday items yourself. Let’s work together to reduce waste and help each other! ☀️

☀️ Ōpunake Nature Cleanup on Friday 18 July

Come and help us clean the beautiful town and main beach of Ōpunake! 💚

This event is whānau and young kids-friendly: your pēpi and tamariki are welcome + you do NOT need to be “fit” or stay for the full 2 hours. Any help is MUCH APPRECIATED!

BYO gloves & buckets (if possible), we will sort all the rubbish collected on-site and discuss waste with you! (Bring all your questions!) ☀️

♻️ School Holidays FREE Recycling Tours on Wed. 9 July + last chance to enter the 2025 Taranaki Schools' Upcycling Competition 🛠️

Join us for an interactive tour and see where your recycling is sorted. Learn about our recycling process and why it’s so important. All ages are welcome! 👽 FREE!

📍 The Junction, Education Room, Colson Rd, New Plymouth

⚠️ Entries close on Friday the 1st of August 2025 at 3pm (Term 3)
🌿 At least 50% of the entry must be made from recycled, upcycled or reused material
