GROWMEEZ brings small groups of people together to grow healthy, spray-free food on under-utilised private land. It’s about more than gardening — it’s about learning, sharing, harvesting, and building genuine connections with like-minded people in your local community.

We are currently looking for underutilised spaces in private properties for small groups in their community to grow and share food and fun! Get in touch below. ⏬

🫜 Latest updates from our Māra - Community Gardens

🌱 In Pātea, at the St George’s Community Garden, they planted some thyme, pineapple sage, yarrow, chives, self-heal, and rosemary. Something exciting is coming soon: painting murals on the concrete trough gardens; this will involve our local tamariki!
Gardening sessions are on the 1st Wednesday and 3rd Sunday of the month, 1pm - 3pm. You can follow the māra on Facebook here.

🌱 In Hāwera, at the St Mary’s Community Garden, they had a beautiful Choko workshop last weekend!
Working bees are on the 1st Friday and 3rd Sunday of each month, 1:30pm - 3:30pm. ALL WELCOME. You can follow their news and updates on their Facebook page here.

🌱 In Ngāmotu - New Plymouth, the Marfell Māra is about to have some great updates! Stay tuned, as we will keep you updated as soon as possible!
Working bees are on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 10am and open to ALL! You can follow their news and updates here on Facebook.

🛤️ 1,600 litres of rubbish collected on the rail tracks (collab with KiwiRail)

This was another BIG Community Cleanup! 🤯🛤 More than 1,600 litres of rubbish collected by an incredible team of volunteers in only 1.5h! 🦸

Massive ngā mihi to the 20 volunteers and to the local KiwiRail staff for their support!

P.S. For health & safety reasons, this cleanup was only advertised to our registered volunteers. You can sign up here to receive regular volunteering opportunities. 🌿
