Electric Adventure πŸ”Œ

Get friends or family together and tour Taranaki gardens, backyards and art studios in style in the latest electric vehicles. No fuel, just fun!

Join Jayne Bright and Barbara Hammonds from Seedsavers for a practical and hands-on workshop to understand the basics of saving seeds - what plants to start with along with tips for harvesting, cleaning and storing different varieties.

Take home seeds to plant, a moon calendar to know when to harvest and sow throughout the year, delicious coffee from Escape (a seed for a different use!) and the knowledge of why it's important to keep seed saving alive in our communities!

Plant-Based Cooking Workshop πŸ₯¦

Taste the difference that fresh vegetables make in the kitchen and learn about working with plant-based products. Watch Chef, Chris Ogier in the demonstration kitchen as he shows you some tricks and tips on working with some alternative plant-based products, and learn how to make nutritious plant-based meals.

After you’ve picked up tips and tricks, move into Impressions restaurant where you enjoy the delights of a variety of plant-based food items.

Edible Garden & Food Forest Workshop πŸ₯¬

Join Bena Denton from Greenbridge for this interactive workshop. Come away with an understanding of how to design and layout your own edible garden and food forest. We will be looking at things like the best spot to site your veggie beds, shelter, veggie bed options ie in-situ or raised, annual v’s perennial food systems, hothouse design, crop rotation and companion planting. With regards to fruit trees and berries, we will look at matching the right fruit tree to the right spot, how to create guilds and a nutrient-dense, weather-resilient food forest system.

The Sustainable Builds Workshop is a facilitated discussion for people considering, are part way through, or who have completed a sustainable build. Participants will each share their ideas and where they’re at in the journey, pass on advice from their experience, and share valuable contacts. Enjoy the kōrero over snacks and organic juice from the orchard. Take home a 1-litre bottle to boot!
