Are you passionate about sustainability, skilled in dealing with people, and enjoy the atmosphere at large events? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Join our team as a Zero Waste Events Volunteer Coordinator and contribute to keeping Taranaki clean. Full training will be given.

πŸ’š Nature Cleanup with Tots πŸ‘Ά - Waiwhakaiho river mouth - Wed. 8 Nov. 9:30am β˜€οΈ

This cleanup is family and young kids-friendly! Your pΔ“pi and tamariki are welcome! πŸ‘Ά

9:30am - Meet us at the Waiwhakaiho Rivermouth parking for a briefing. Bring your own gloves and buckets if possible but we'll provide some if needed!
9:40am - Start of the cleanup!
10:30am - Meeting back to drop off all the trash collected (recycling and landfill will be separated.)

Bring your keep cups as the Little Easy Cafe container should be open!

No RSVP required! Just show up!

Are you not able to walk for too long? Can you only come later? Can you only join for 30min?

The St Mary’s Community Garden in Hāwera is hosting a FREE compost workshop on Sunday 19 November at 1pm! β˜€οΈ

Their new education shelter is done just in time for the Taranaki Sustainable Backyards Trail! Massive thanks to Johnny Neil Building Ltd for the timber, Silver Fern Farms and Rodie Trust for extra funding, and our local community helpers to get it all done and looking amazing! 🀩

🏟️ Cleaning up the Yarrow Stadium + Join our team our Super-Volunteers! 🦸

ALL CLEANED UP! πŸ’ͺ Our team of 20 volunteers did an INCREDIBLE mahi on Saturday for the BIG Taranaki Bulls final! 🦸

  • 13 500 fans at the Yarrow Stadium

  • a LOT of rubbish to pick up and sort out during and after the game (see photos below!)

  • Recycling & Compost: 2 full skip bins + 29 regular bins

  • Cardboards: 1 full cage + 1 big bin

  • Soft Plastics: 2 big bags!

  • ONLY 4.5 regular bins (240L) going to the LANDFILL!

How can YOU help? πŸ’š

1. During all the events you are taking part in, PLEASE bring all your rubbish to the recycling stations! It makes our cleanup A LOT easier! β˜€οΈ
