Ghost Net Artworks

Join local artist Jacqui Elley to create your own ghost net artworks inspired by those featured in our exhibition Voyage to the Deep.

Ghost nets are fishing nets that drift in our oceans, causing environmental disaster zones. They trap sea life, killing fish and mammals,  and can be a danger to ships. They can also become mini-ecosystems of their own, a kind of reef out in the wide blue yonder.

This workshop will use unique materials collected by Jacqui from the shores of Taranaki and highlight her environmentally sustainable art-practice.

At: Puke Ariki Museum Foyer
