“The Farmer and his Prince” : Film Screening

Prince Charles Organic Farming Documentary:

The Green Party New Plymouth is screening the Film The Farmer and his Prince on the 28th October 2016 at 7.30pm at the St. Mary’s Peace Memorial Hall, 44 Vivian Street, New Plymouth. This is a NZ premiere and the film has won 9 awards. The film is not available online and not for sale in New Zealand.

In this special screening of Berthram Verhaag’s The Farmer and the Prince, viewers will get a rare peek at Duchy Home Farm, the organic farm in Southern England started by Prince Charles with the vision to feed the world and heal the environment with organic agriculture.

Beautifully shot through all four seasons, the film shows why the Prince of Wales felt strongly about the concept of organic and sustainable farming long before sustainability was on everyone‘s lips. Alongside his farm manager David Wilson, Prince Charles has been farming organically for 30 years. Now, farmers from all over the United Kingdom travel to the Duchy Home Farm to learn how to convert to organic farming practices themselves.

After the screening the Green Party fundraising raffle will be drawn, followed by light snacks and tea & coffee.

At: St. Mary’s Peace Memorial Hall, 44 Vivian Street
Cost: $10 a ticket, kids are free.
