A DIFFERENT ANGLE: TARANAKI’S ECCENTRIC BEE-MAN EDGAR ROY BREWSTER

FEB 12 - JUN 13 Ongoing Event

Roy Brewster built NORIAN as he believed right angles were alien to harmonious living. The house, on Sanders Avenue in New Plymouth, saw more than a quarter of a million guests between 1954 and the mid-sixties, all welcomed by Roy and his wife Nettie.

Roy’s amazing beehive house wasn’t the only fascinating thing about his life and the exhibition includes some remarkable objects and archives from the Puke Ariki heritage collection, Taranaki Aviation Transport and Technology Museum, Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, and private Brewster family collections.
