Painting Bee Taranaki Timebank

Dear TimeBankers and Community Members of Taranaki,

We need your help! This is another great opportunity to gain hours, give back to the community, and connect with other like-minded people, as well as learn how to dance :)

The Val Deakin Dance Theatre need part of their building interiors painted and are asking for volunteers to assist them with their revamp. In return they have offered to show us how to boogie, rock, waltz, hustle – whatever move takes your fancy.

We have started to organise a painting bee and need lots of volunteers to make sure we get the job done in time. Days and times scheduled for this event are as follows:

Friday, 7 April, 9am till 3pm Cleaning and prep work, painting

Saturday, 8 April, 1pm till 6pm Painting

Sunday, 9 April, 10am till 5pm Painting and cleaning up

Location is Val Deakin Dance Theatre, 306 St Aubyn Street (opposite Mitre10), New Plymouth.

This painting bee is open to everyone, TimeBank member or not.

If you’re not a TimeBank member yet and decide you want to become part of TimeBank over the weekend we’d be more than happy to sign you up!

The time you dedicate to helping paint – whether that is one hour or ten – will be recorded on our TimeBank database and you can use your credit on a dance lesson or any other trade or job you need help with through TimeBank.

For dance lessons, Jane from Val Deakin School of Dance is open to suggestions as to what moves you would like to learn, and there will be one class for adults and one for children, both held some time at the beginning of July – to make sure we all get our fair share of exercise and fun over the cold and drab winter months.

If you have time and are interested to be part of our painting bee, please email us back at timebank@taranaki.gen.nz to let us know which dates and times out of the ones listed above work for you.

We hope to hear back from lots of you! It’ll be a fun event.

Warm regards,

Brittany and Anja
