We are celebrating the start of the Taranaki Sustainable Backyards Trail 2018 by bringing together a group of talented women from The Growers & Producers Collective – North Taranaki.

10.30am-noon Rae Tissott will be demonstrating the art of making soap in its purest form; Throughout the day... Karen Clark will be weaving harakeke, Kath Jennings will be spinning her wool and exhibiting her finely crafted harakeke insects. Jan Brown will be exhibiting and selling her beautiful retro silk purses, Julia Sherry will have her driftwood macramé hangings on display. Sally Wise talks All Things Saffron and will be selling her saffron corms. Gaewyn Temple-Cox is a cheese maker and makes spectacular goats cheese. Maria Lempriere, host, will be taking garden tours and talking about living off the grid on their 100% solar powered lifestyle block.

And to finish the day from 5-7pm, join us for a Rustic Garden to Table Wine & Cheese Sampling Affair (see ticketed event).

Peihana Farm is #20 on the Sustainable Backyards Trail Map and is the most northern property on the Trail. The gates will open at 10am which gives you time to wander around the garden and have a cuppa and a natter before Rae Tissott’s soap making demonstration which starts at 10.30am.

Refreshments, produce, plants, art and craft will be available for purchase throughout the day. Eftpos available.
