Community Economics and Permaculture Conversation Tour

  • TSB Community Trust 21 Dawson Street (map)

This event is organised by Taranaki TimeBank and will be led by Bryan Innes and Joanna Pearsall. Bryan and Joanna have been involved with Living Economies and permaculture for many years.

It's part of a tour around the North Island to facilitate conversations about money, savings pools, economy, permaculture, low cost housing, land trusts, global economic trends, life strategies in the face of an uncertain future etc with groups of interested people.

It's a great opportunity for people to come together and explore commonalities and possibilities, to cross pollinate between the groups and to learn from other people's perspectives.

Living Economies purpose is:
To promote learning about currencies and systems of exchange that foster community well-being and strengthen regional economies.
We wish to build a nation-wide awareness of the power of complementary currencies and local economic exchange systems to promote economic vitality and empower communities to withstand the difficulties of an ever-widening inequality gap and economic cycles. In particular, to foster local currencies, TimeBanks and Savings Pools as communities of practice throughout New Zealand, for their ability to increase social inclusion and reduce economic distress.
