Pruning for Home Gardeners

When: 10am - 1pm, Sunday 5th August 2018 (12th August wet weather back up)

Where: New Plymouth

Facilitator: Dee Turner

Join our practical workshop on how to prune fruit trees this Winter. Learn how to increase your fruit production and control the shape of trees for small spaces, such as with espalier pruning. Know what tools to use, why and when to prune, and how to maintain the health of mature trees & vines. You’ll leave confident through a hands-on pruning experience.

Dee Turner, local horticulture expert and tutor as well as host of a sustainable garden featured in this year's Garden Spectacular, will be facilitating our first 2018 winter season pruning workshop. What better time than how to learn to shape up your fruit trees for higher production and more accessible yields. Get stuck in and spend a morning with Dee in the orchard alongside other keen green thumbs who want to perfect the art of pruning.
