Do you and your staff want to get fit and healthy for summer? Now is the time to dust down your bike and get out your walking shoes on to get out and enjoy our fresh Taranaki air! The Fresh Air Challenge is coming up in September and encourages us to think differently about our commutes to work and at home. It could be walking to work, car pooling to a meeting, catching the bus, riding to the shops or walking to a friend’s house, any trip that sees you leave the car keys behind can count to your total trips logged on the Fresh Air website.
By getting your business involved your staff will benefit by being fitter, healthier and happier also not to forget you will be contributing toward helping the environment. We also have some great spot prizes up for grabs including morning tea shouts, farmers market packs, gift vouchers and of course the opportunity to take out the ‘Fresh Air Challenge 2018! Our new website has also been designed so you can have an internal competition at your workplace, while also competing against other organisations in the New Plymouth District.
Last year we saw an amazing 85,328 trips logged throughout the challenge and in the face of some pretty adversarial weather!
And these businesses took out the following categories :
Over 100's: 1st = Shell Taranaki, 2nd = NPDC, 3rd = First Gas
Under 100's: 1st = Sport Taranaki, 2nd = Logicamms
Under 10's: 1st = Ivy Lane Florist, 2nd = The Moving Brayne
To get involved? Simply – register your organisation interest with Lets Go (firstname.lastname@example.org). We will register your workplace and team in our new website so when it goes live your team mates can register and start logging trips in September. You don’t have to log your trips every day, you can add them up and log them once a week.
