Taiao Ngahuru Waananga

  • Owae Marae 6 North Street Waitara, Taranaki, 4320 New Zealand (map)

Kia ora e te iwi! It is that time again to Waananga and we cannot wait!! Our group, Te Whenua Tōmuri Trust, has started an exciting journey of running wānanga on kaitiakitanga - working with kura, hapū and whānau in Taranaki. Last year, we held wānanga on Mounga Taranaki, at Ōakura Pā and at Muru Raupatu Marae, Whakaahurangi Marae, Te Niho Marae Parihaka. From the mountains to the sea - we would like to invite you to join us for another overnight wānanga at Owae Marae in Waitara.
The dates are locked in for the 13th & 14th of April 2019 (Saturday/Sunday).

Our noho includes river monitoring, mārakai, Para Kore, karakia, and activities for the tamariki. There are limited beds for staying the night so register now through our website:

You are welcome to come along to just part of the weekend as well. We will send out a full schedule before the wānanga commences. This is a wānanga for the whole whānau (under 16s must come with a guardian). There is no cost to participate but koha is welcome. If your whānau needs assistance with getting to Owae Marae, Waitara please get in touch and we will help where we can. Let’s get outside and enjoy our natural environment.

If you have any questions, please email or call Robyn on 022 438 5571. Please register NOW!
