Bottling Kai with Tuhi-Ao - Zero Waste Workshop Series

  • Sustainable Taranaki 28 Brooklands Park Drive New Plymouth, Taranaki, 4310 New Zealand (map)

Love food hate waste?

Come join a short workshop to learn cold pack fruit and vege bottling! No fancy equipment, no sterilising and messy ladling of burning hot food, just fast, safe packing of ordinary reusable jars into a big pot of water to boil. Bring a clean small to medium glass jar with screwable metal lid (no dents or rust), some stone/pip fruit or veg you’d like to preserve and something to take notes with. Also bring something to transport a hot jar home in, like a thick hand towel and bag. While the pots boiling, you’ll learn how to pickle gherkins and bottle beans.

NB: PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN JARS WITH LIDS (NO RUST OR DENTS) & PRODUCE IF POSSIBLE (we will do our best to provide for those who cannot).
