Join the Snorkel Cleanup! 🤿
At the same time, a Snorkel Clean up is organised by the Ngā Motu Marine Reserve Society. If you are a confident snorkeler/freediver, you can sign up here (it is free, but registrations are mandatory).
Meet at the Gate to the Breakwater for the Snorkel Cleanup.
Here is the plan for the Nature Cleanup on land!
5:30pm (or later) - Meet us at the main Lee Breakwater carpark, near the big sign for a kōrero - briefing. Look for the Sustainable Taranaki flag! - Here on GoogleMaps.
BYO gloves and buckets if possible, but we'll provide some if needed!
7pm (or earlier) - Meeting back to drop off all the trash collected (we will separate all items to divert as much as we can from the landfill)
No RSVP required! Just show up!
The aim of this event is:
- to clean this location the best we can
- to divert trash from the landfill
- to engage and educate our community about waste and recycling
- to create a fun and meaningful event for families to connect with the environment and take action towards bettering sustainability/conservation
This event is part of Taranaki TimeBank and you can use your hours later to exchange skills, time and knowledge. Learn more about Taranaki TimeBank here: www.taranakitimebank.org
