Nature Cleanup at Waitara Beach on Saturday 15 November 10am (it is fine to be late!)
Come and help us clean the beautiful Waitara Beach (West) and the Otupaiia Marine Park!
This event is family and young kids-friendly! Your pēpi and tamariki are welcome!
ALL WELCOME! You do NOT need to be “fit” or stay for the full event. Any help is MUCH APPRECIATED!
10am (or later) - Meet us at Waitara Beach (west, corner of the Otupaiia Park) for a kōrero - briefing. Look for the Sustainable Taranaki flag! - Meeting point here on Google Map.
BYO gloves and buckets if possible, but we'll provide some if needed!
11:30am (or earlier) - Meeting back to drop off all the trash collected (we will separate all items to divert as much as we can from the landfill)
No RSVP required! Just show up!
The aim of this event is:
- to clean this location the best we can
- to divert trash from the landfill
- to engage and educate our community about waste and recycling
- to create a fun and meaningful event for families to connect with the environment and take action towards bettering sustainability/conservation
