Spring Working Bee - Seedsavers Taranaki

  • Sustainable Taranaki 28 Brooklands Park Drive New Plymouth, Taranaki, 4310 New Zealand (map)

Invitation to Seedsavers Taranaki Spring Working Bee

Sunday 13th September
1.30pm to 4.00pm

Enviro Hub
Brooklands Road, Brooklands Park
New Plymouth

Please note this is not the usual Seedsavers gathering; it is a working bee.

We will be sorting and packaging Spring/Summer seed to add to the seed libraries around the mounga

We chat about seed saving and answer any questions you may have whilst putting seeds into envelopes, labelling and various other tasks.

If you have your own seed, please bring it with you, which can be added to the seed libraries. If the seed needs to be cleaned, bring a sieve from home, and the Seedsavers sieves will also be there.

If you do bring seed, it would be helpful to know the history i.e. where originally purchased, how long you have been growing it and where in Taranaki. This will help to decide if it is open-pollinated. If you don’t have all of this information, the seed is still valuable; please do still bring it with you.

Everyone who comes to the working bee is welcome to take home a couple of packets of open-pollinated seed to grow, save the seed and return some to one of the seed libraries.
