GROWMEEZ - Communal Gardens

Where gardens grow and friendships flourish. 🌱

GROWMEEZ brings small groups of people together to grow healthy, spray-free food on under-utilised private land. It’s about more than gardening — it’s about learning, sharing, harvesting, and building genuine connections with like-minded people in your local community.

This model is perfect for those who want to grow their own food but may lack the space, time, confidence, or knowledge — or who simply enjoy gardening more when it’s done together.

How GROWMEEZ Works

  • A residential garden that needs some care and attention is identified.

  • A small, closed group of around 7–8 local participants is formed (not open to the general public).

  • The group meets once a week for 1–2 hours, on the same day and time each week.

  • Members work together to grow and maintain the garden in a relaxed, supportive environment.

  • All produce is shared among participants each week.

  • Guidance and mentorship are provided by the GROWMEEZ coordinator, Shari, helping participants build skills and confidence over time.

  • Each participant contributes a small weekly fee of $7, which goes toward garden costs such as seeds, soil improvements, and tools.

Community Connection

GROWMEEZ gardens are also connected through a voluntary social media group, allowing members to:

  • Share recipes and harvest ideas

  • Promote workshops and events

  • Ask questions and troubleshoot challenges

  • Celebrate successes across all gardens
